BRET R. TALLENT

Bret Tallent (1960 - ) grew up in the southwestern United States where he gained an appreciation for the Native people's culture and traditions. He has since lived all over the country, but now resides in Arizona with his wife and family. While Bret has written poetry and non-fiction, his true love is classic horror.

 

Bret's first novel, "The Winter People," began in 1986.  However, as so often happens, life got in the way.  Over the course of the next 20 years Bret continued to work on it until the digital publishing age drove him to finally finish it.  While there is little in the way of proper editing, and the book itself could stand some revision, the bulk of the reviews it has received have been very good.  The story itself is intriguing, and the characters are well developed.

 

The relative success of his first attempt has encouraged Bret to continue with his writing, and his growth as a writer is clearly evident in his second book, "Creepers."  Bret is currently working on several other books, but hopes to go back to "The Winter People" to give it the revisions and editing he feels it deserves.
